Municipality of Nabunturan coined from a Mansaka word meaning, “Togetherness, sharing and thanksgiving for a bountiful harvest.” It came into existence in 1994 when Nabunturan was named as a Provincial Agri-Industrial Center in Region XI alongside with the municipalities in Tagum and Panabo which had now become cities except Nabunturan. in my first year of high school, on the first day of school, I quickly woke up from my bed to get ready to go. I was very happy and excited because I was entering high school. When I arrived at the school, I was delighted and immediately looked for my classroom. I saw someone I knew before, a neighbor, and we walked together towards our classroom. Little did we know that we would become classmates. I entered the classroom with my friend. I was very nervous because I didn’t know them very well; they were new faces from a different barangay (neighborhood). Unlike in elementary school, where their faces were familiar, I was also afraid of the teacher, thinking they might be strict, but when I sat down, they turned out to be kind.
